Michael Hohnen – NT Australian of the year, ARIA-winning musician and producer of ARIA award winning albums; graduated from Melbourne’s VCA. During the late 80’s early 90’s toured through Europe with both a Chamber string orchestra and pop band ‘The Killjoys .
A career spanning over 30 years, Michael along with business partner Mark Grose have built the local music label SKINNYFISH MUSIC into a nationally recognised entity; Michael’s most recent work with Gurrumul saw him touring Australia, Europe, Asia and the U.S not only as Music Director/Producer but also as a prominent member of Gurrumul’s band playing the Double Bass. His music can be heard on a string of albums and projects including work with Sarah Blasko, Delta Goodrem, Tom E. Lewis and the late Ross Hannaford. Michael’s latest venture is forming a production team with James Mangohig (Sietta, Daniel Johns, Damn Moroda), actively working on collaborative and often more mainstream projects. Working with Shepparton rap-god and celebrity Briggs to produce The Children Came Back, amongst others.
